Dual Purpose Elevation

he design plan is kept simple but functional. The sprawling building in the northeastern state of Assam speaks of the versatility and optimum space utilization. The structure falls in a commercial building design plan where the lower half is kept for commercial activities and the upper half is reserved for small hotel-like stays. Thus making it a complete commercial design.
- To keep the commercial floors completely independent, an outer staircase is provided so that business activities are kept separate.
- The commercial facade is made with the use of seamless floor-to-ceiling-length glasses to give a modern look
- The hotel/lodge access is kept completely private from the backside to avoid the daily commercial hustle.
- The facade is planned very carefully. Strategic placement of beds near windows leads to implanting vertical HPL panels to maintain privacy. To keep the rooms ventilated, the floor ceilings framed glass doors are provided in the rooms.
- A designer metal CNC cutting jali is placed at the center of the top two floors to give the structural strength and adorned with a beautiful origami design.
- To add more depth, the wooden textured HPL paneling is provided on walls that add warmth to the structure.
The structure lies amidst the beauty of the city. Thus, the client’s need was to attract major clientele with showrooms and small resting spaces for the tourists. Our client, Mr. Avtar Singh, found the floor plan and design structure quite good and in his words, it resolved all his problems.
